Located right in the centre of Fukuoka, Hakata Station is close to both Tenjin and Nakasu. A number of train lines run through the station, including the shinkansen (bullet train), JR (national rail), and city subway, making it a real transportation hub for any people visiting the area.

On the seventh floor of Hakata Station, there is a food court known as Kuten, which brings together some of the best loved eateries in Fukuoka.
It is a very popular place to have lunch.
Hakata Station is known for the beautiful lights and decorations they put up during the winter. Its a wonderful nighttime sight for couples, as well people simply passing through the area.
