Sightseeing around Fukuoka in a Kimono!

Interested in spending a day sightseeing in Dazaifu? Why not take the opportunity of renting a kimono and exploring the local area wearing a traditional Japanese outfit!

Hanamizuki is a store in the local area that specialises in kimono rental and offers great rates. Find-out more, here.

Visitors will be able spot Hanamizuki after making their way down the Dazaifu Sando and then walking towards the left.  

The changing area is on the second floor. You will find the stairs located to the right hand side of the building.

They have a great range of kimono and yukata in stock, so you are sure to find something that catches your eye! Customers can rent one of their gorgeous outfits from just 3,000 yen!

Once the makeover has been completed, there’s a charming little set-up just to the side of Hanamizuki, which gives customers the chance to take a photograph to remember their day.

There is no doubt that this traditional look perfectly matches the atmosphere around Dazaifu, an area rich in history!

The outfits that our staff were wearing caught the attention of a couple of tourists from Spain! Just think of all the people you could meet and new encounters if you go sightseeing in a kimono!

Designed by the highly acclaimed architect Kengo Kuma, the Starbucks in the center of Dazaifu has become something of a tourist attraction. Huge numbers of visitors stop outside to take a photo of the building’s unique design.

The sight of someone sipping green tea while wearing a kimono really does create a wonderfully traditional image.
